19th of February, 2017 — We conquered Mt. Mag-Asawang Bato in Tingloy, Batangas.
With just a stick, bottle of water and a pair of cheap slippers, I was able to surpass an hour hike. We experienced rock climbing with no safety gears and harness! Oh, and mind you, our tourist guide was also dead drunk that time! Thanks to our enabling push (background music + unlimited stops/rests), we were able to witness and enjoy the scenic views and of course, the breath-taking beauty of Tingloy, Batangas.
Mt. Mag-Asawang Bato is an 880 ft-rock formation dominating the town of Tingloy.
According to locals, you’re supposed to make a wish at the foot of the mountain if you wanted to tie the knot soon. It’s also called “Mag-Asawa” since locals claim that it looks like a couple facing each other. This mountain is also one of the two peaks of the island which is the most visited peak by trekkers and nature aficionados.
